Frequently asked questions
- Is the JAIN Online MBA Operations suited for someone from a non-manufacturing background?
- Yes. While the curriculum has strong manufacturing roots, the Service Operations and Industry 4.0 modules apply equally to e-commerce fulfilment, healthcare operations, BFSI back-office and SaaS operations. 41% of our 2025 operations cohort came from service-industry backgrounds.
- Does the operations specialisation include Six Sigma certification?
- It includes a Six Sigma Green Belt simulation that mirrors industry-standard certification content. For the actual industry credential (CSSC / ASQ / IASSC), students typically take the certifying body's exam during or after Semester IV — we provide aligned prep within the curriculum.
- Can the JAIN Online MBA Operations help me move into supply chain consulting?
- Yes, it's a common transition. The Supply Chain Management core paired with the Operations Analytics elective and a strong capstone has placed graduates at Big-4 supply-chain practices and pure-play consultancies. Networking through the alumni community is the second-most-important factor.
- Are there any in-person sessions for the operations specialisation?
- The programme is 100% online. However, plant-visit case studies are presented via video walkthroughs with practising plant heads, and the optional 'Operations in Action' boot-camp at JAIN's Bengaluru campus is held twice a year for any student who wishes to attend.
